Matapeake Beach is currently operating under a health warning against swimming due to high levels of bacteria found in the water sampling. Effective July 31, 2026, until further notice the site will be under this warning.

Temporary Closure Planned for Section of Cross Island Trail ↗

Queen Anne’s County will temporarily close a section of the Cross Island Trail between the Kent Island Library spur and the Cox Creek Bridge. This section of the trail will be closed for Tuesday, August 4, to allow for paving. Work is weather dependent.
