On February 17, 2026 the Queenstown Commissioners held a special meeting (called to order at 4:00 p.m.) to interview five applicants for a Town Commissioner vacancy. Commissioners Al Hardee and Bryon Callahan, Town Manager Amy Moore, and Town Clerk Aaron Horney were present. Each candidate (George Buckler, Jim Watzin, Tom Peregoy, Ned Foster, and George Plumbo) was interviewed in half-hour slots and asked the same seven questions about motivation to serve, key issues, past involvement, skills, views on growth, availability, and why they moved to Queenstown. Common themes in responses were concerns about water/sewer infrastructure, controlled or “smart” growth, infrastructure and tax impacts, and general availability to serve; several candidates noted prior commissioner experience or community service. The Commissioners did not make an appointment at this meeting and said a decision would be made at a future meeting; the special meeting was adjourned at 6:16 p.m. by a 2-0 vote.
