Town Commissioners — 2025-10-22

The Queenstown Commissioners met on October 22, 2025 (in-person and on Zoom). Public Works reported membrane delivery expected by November 7, pole lights to be erected at the boat ramp “this Friday,” town-wide hydrant flushing scheduled for 11/20 (rain date 11/21), a request from the Outlets General Manager about cleaning the water tower with a contractor quote of $24,720, and $2,800 in proposed tree work around town. Finance reported fund balances (General $364,885.62; Water/Sewer $57,373.76; ARPA $592,234.48) and commissioners approved moving $225,000 from the General Fund into a 6-month term CD; minutes for Oct. 8 and Oct. 15 were approved with noted votes and an abstention. Infrastructure updates: I&I contractor has begun dewatering; Queenstown Harbor water issues will be assessed during the town-wide flushing with valve shutoffs and flow measurements; no updates on the water tank project or federal channel dredging. Policy and development items under review include water/sewer connection code clarifications, a rate study, proposed ADU zoning amendments, Ordinance 25-06 (solar energy equipment) with a hearing set for 11/12/25, and the Wheatland’s Project agreement language sent to Richmond American and Waterman while awaiting responses; commissioners also began preliminary discussion of possible long-term rental legislation by reviewing an older Ordinance 17-05. In public comment, the town said affected residents will receive notices about Old Wharf Lane sewer work; the minutes cut off during a question from Sue Donaldson about a QVFD response.
