The Queenstown Commissioners met May 14, 2025. Public Works reported membrane cleaning/inspection this week, ongoing generator parts procurement with some Kohler parts out of stock, RFPs for courthouse and town office work, and multiple storm pipe failures (Melvin Ave., Del Rhodes, Harbor La.) needing replacement quotes. The Commission appointed Sue Donaldson to fill a Planning Commission vacancy through September 2025, and Finance/Events committees are working on next year’s budgets (one concert scheduled for August). Town financial balances were listed (General Fund $120,710.12; W/S Fund 5229,008.37; ARPA Fund $591,986.29), a nearby property owner offered to donate a portion of land at the end of Old Wharf Ln. subject to conditions, and the town will get estimates before deciding. Water projects: I&I start date pending, water tank/infrastructure pre-bid budget review with USDA and Rauch underway (USDA may de-obligate older projects; waiver to Sept. 30, 2025), short-term Harbor water quality remedy is quarterly 15-minute hydrant flushing, Rauch recommends pulling meters to troubleshoot pressure, and the completed water/sewer rate study assumes an 8% rate increase for next fiscal year with 10–12% options to be provided.
