These are the minutes of the Queenstown Commissioners regular meeting on October 23, 2024. Commissioners (Willis and Callahan; President Hardee absent) agreed to try bi-weekly flushing of lines to address discolored water in the Harbor Lane area, and noted Republic will begin delivering trash carts soon. The Commission authorized acceptance of the I&I project bid and execution of the contract (motion passed 2–0), and reported continued work on USDA documents for the new water tower and infrastructure project. Treasurer balances were reported (General Fund $209,455.35; W/S Fund $4,939.64; ARPA Fund $594,641.33) and commissioners noted W/S funds are often low and a rate study may be needed; the audit work is ongoing. Events updates included a Halloween Parade on October 26 (1:00 PM) and a request from the Fire Dept. to avoid scheduling the town tree lighting the same night as the Centreville parade; other items (odor ordinance, 6915 Main St. land purchase) were tabled until President Hardee returns. Public comment included a request from a Comegy Lane resident for 1–2 speed bumps, which commissioners will consider; the meeting adjourned at 6:56 PM.
