Town Commissioners — 2024-02-16

Town Commissioners held a special meeting on Feb. 16, 2024 with Comcast representatives, the Town Engineer, and AccuTrench to review internet installation plans and inspect completed site work. Commissioners complained that installed pedestals are much larger than the approved 6"x6" design (about 24"x36") and agreed Comcast will replace pedestals with flush mounts with taps where feasible; Comcast will pull an address list and identify which locations can be changed and report back to the Town. The meeting also covered failure of two pumps at the Del Rhodes pump station on Feb. 14 caused by an underground electric line nicked in two places; Delmarva Electric noted the cut was on town property and could have occurred when a Comcast subcontractor trenched to cut a telephone line, and the Town will investigate further with the sewer plant operator before deciding next steps.
