Town Commissioners — 2023-11-15

The Queenstown Commissioners met on November 15, 2023. Commissioners certified the uncontested November 6 election and swore in Al Hardee, who was then appointed Commission President by a 3-0 vote. The meeting recognized volunteer Caden Quirion for his Life Ring Safety Stations project and heard engineering updates: membrane-cleaning automation proposals are higher than estimated, road and sidewalk standards will be drafted using Easton’s as a model, and a lead service line inventory must be completed by October 2024. The Waterman Family Limited Partnership presented a Development Rights and Responsibilities Agreement petition, which the Commission accepted for further review in closed session. Committee and staff reports covered membrane cleaning work and drum screen parts, a homeowner setback variance (BOA hearing Dec. 11), recreational cannabis location discussions, safety task force signage, a finance audit extension to Dec. 15, reappointments to planning and finance, town balances and plans to close and re-open CDs with a $300,000 transfer, a $1,000 donation to Wreaths Across America, keeping boat slip fees at $510, approval to buy two steel soccer goals, and a Town Manager report on an MDE meeting about a loan/grant for the required water service line inventory.
