Town Commissioners — 2023-08-23

The Queenstown Commissioners met August 23, 2023 (Al Hardee, Tom Willis, Bryon Callahan, Town Manager Amy Moore, Town Clerk Aaron Horney, Town Attorney Lyndsey Ryan). They reviewed finance balances (General Fund $281,419.35; Water-Sewer $97,664.91; ARPA $685,946.82), approved the July 26 minutes, and tabled the August 8 minutes. The board adopted Resolution 23-102 to update the town fee schedule after MDIA raised inspection fees. Manager Moore reported grant applications submitted to DNR for new playground equipment ($278,000), a park pavilion electric upgrade ($48,000), and a waterfront boardwalk ($112,750), and said fireworks permitting and public works hiring are in process; the commissioners met in closed session to discuss personnel. Project updates included USDA review of additional information for the new water tower, preparation of bid documents for Wall Street repaving, requests for two more estimates for boat-ramp pier work and two more plumbing estimates for the town dock, and ongoing code enforcement actions (grass notices, one town-cut, and contact with Royal Farms about a fence).
