Town Commissioners — 2023-03-22

The Queenstown Commissioners met on March 22, 2023 (Al Hardee, Tom Willis, Bryon Callahan, Town Manager Amy Moore, Town Clerk Aaron Horney, Town Attorney Lyndsey Ryan). Town Engineer Bob Rauch reported that the Outlet Center owners want easements for on-site sanitary and water mains and hydrants; the attorney drafted a PWA amendment and the agreement would require line testing before approval. Public works reported a failed chlorine pump (two pumps ordered), a $3,240 credit for faster-than-expected compactor work, and that Old Wharf Lane sewer replacement remains a top priority; I&I estimates may be about 10% higher. Five bids were received for Wall Street water line replacement with Middleton's Construction the low bidder at $25,709.00; work on the new water tower ER is in tribal review before USDA submission. Marine items include a potential floating dock review and town dock ladder/bench work and paving bid options; the Events Committee was told temporary event electrical service cannot be left in place and small budget overages are acceptable. Commissioners introduced Ordinance 23-01 to replace the town procurement policy (public hearing set for 4/26/23 at 6:00 p.m.), reappointed BOA members through February 2024, reviewed fund balances (General Fund- 9265,437.27; Water-Sewer Fund- $81,208.50; ARPA Fund- $685,659.37), discussed a $2,100 sidewalk repair quote (seeking two more estimates), and heard a public request for a traffic safety study following speeding concerns.
