Town Commissioners — 2023-02-22

This record is the agenda and minutes for the Town of Queenstown Commissioners meeting on February 22, 2023. Commissioners heard an Eagle Scout proposal to install three lifesaving stations at the town docks and agreed it was a good idea; the Town Attorney confirmed placement would not create liability and the scout plans to fundraise. Public Works updates included mowing around the sewer plant, compactor parts arriving with installation planned the week of 3/13 with Parkson, membrane six-month inspections scheduled for 319 and 3/10, and plans to scrap one non-working mower and value/sell other surplus equipment; the Commissioners accepted Purdy’s quote of $1,350 for drain-box work on Olde Point Lane (vote 3-0). Other business: Wheatland’s PWA draft was accepted pending one commissioner’s remaining concern (vote 3-0), Breezeline/Atlantic Broadband contract is under attorney and finance review, Ordinance No. 22-06 is awaiting Critical Area Commission review, the Finance report showed General Fund $313,682.59, Water-Sewer $87,888.47, ARPA Fund $685,66.78, a Spring/Easter event is planned for April 1 with Yoga in the Park proposed, and Commissioner Hardee requested a closed session at the meeting’s end to discuss committee process concerns.
