Town Commissioners — 2023-02-07

The Queenstown Commissioners met on February 7, 2023 (regular meeting called to order at 4:15 p.m. after Zoom technical difficulties). Public Works reviewed three repair estimates for Old Wharf Lane water line leaks ($11,607, $13,200, $20,878) and discussed shoreline grass cutting, completion of the Steamboat Village overflow parking lot, compactor parts awaiting Parkson installation, and a $400 quote to remove a sight-obstructing tree at Comegys Lane & Main St. For the New Water Tower & Infrastructure project, the engineer submitted three proposed amendments totaling $74,105 ($58,155; $6,450; $9,500) that the Town Manager and Town Attorney will review before decisions. The Wall St. water line replacement was put out to bid with bids due March 10; Town Dock work has $137,095.49 remaining in grant funds and the commission agreed to add electrical work to the Custom Boarders contract and prepare a bid package for paving. Other items: Ordinance No. 22-06 (Critical Area Overlay) has minor text amendments and should be ready for a public hearing at the next meeting, the Wheatland’s Project draft PWA is under review, treasurer balances were reported (General $318,726.44; Water/Sewer $91,949.48; ARPA $685,606.78), and President Hardee recognized the recent passing of community award recipient Ralph Kirchner.
