Town Commissioners — 2023-01-25

The Queenstown Commissioners met on January 25, 2023 and received department updates and progress reports on infrastructure, marine, policy, and development matters. Public Works reported delays installing a new screen because the compactor (operating marginally in hand mode) needs parts from Parkson before Susquehanna can install the screen; the commission asked for two more quotes for Old Wharf Lane water-line repair and opted to leave the altered ditch at 112 Melvin Ave as-is for now after inspection. Utility Service Co (Veolia) quoted $5,933 to pressure-wash the Outlets water tower; commissioners agreed to approve the work if the Outlets pay half the cost. Staff will notify slip renters about disposing clam shells after shells were observed dumped near the Second Ave. dock; staff also solicited concrete quotes for Olde Point Lane stormdrain and will obtain piling costs for boat-ramp improvements. Other items: the town resubmitted an $8,238,227 funding request for the I&I project to MDE, the Wall St. water-line RFP is ready to advertise, the Breezeline franchise agreement is under review (initially showing a 30% cable-only increase), Ordinance No. 22-06 revisions were returned to the CAC, and work continues on Wheatland’s project documents and the Outlets’ water-main ownership information.
