The Queenstown Commissioners met Aug. 10, 2021 and discussed public works, planning, finance, and town management items. Public Works reported elevated nitrogen at the wastewater treatment plant (being treated with caustic soda and within compliance), tree pruning, ditch work, a sewer odor traced to a decomposed deer, purchase of two ORP sensors, and confirmed unauthorized private water connections to two boat slips (Commissioners agreed to bill $10/month per slip). Commissioners heard from a prospective developer about 6736 Main St seeking growth allocation and possible road connections and referred any plans to the Planning Commission. The board authorized bid documents to be prepared by the town attorney and put the WWTP control room project out to bid (motion passed 3–0), reviewed a Pavemaster paving quote for Queenstown Harbor, and scheduled a joint meeting with the Planning Commission about the Trails Master Plan; Planning also submitted draft fence ordinance changes and will finalize rules on boats/trailers after September. Manager updates included outreach on the Wheatlands impact study, possible dredging/shoreline restoration discussions with DNR and the county, and review of the AT&T/water-tower lease status; finance items and some minutes were deferred.
