Town Commissioners — 2021-07-13

The Queenstown Commissioners met July 13, 2021. Commissioners approved the June 23 and June 30 minutes and voted to move regular meetings from 3:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Town finances show a General Fund balance of $86,262.72 and a Water/Sewer Fund balance of $100,830.85 (about $50,000 of which will go toward USDA loans this week). Operations updates: A/C coil for the plant was ordered, plant filters will be cleaned with muriatic acid and respirators will be purchased for staff, and Rauch submitted initial drawings to separate electronic panels at the plant. Harbormaster reassigned Slip #2 to Willey Comegys and created a slip-assignment map by boat size. Capital projects and proposals: Steve Roberson proposed a new Wall Street water line for $26,869 (to be bid and may qualify for ARPA funding); Liquid Engineering quoted $93,785 for water tower interior/exterior work plus vent replacement and inspection contract options totaling $16,985, and the town is seeking additional separated bids from Southern Corrosion and Suez. Other items: Planning will review boat trailer parking issues, sheriff continues speed enforcement on Main Street, boat ramp and town dock work are planned for fall (with boat removals required), the Wheatland’s developer is locating a firm for an impact fee study, interim financing rate quotes for the water/infrastructure project were sent to the finance chair, Ordinances 21-04 and 21-05 have public hearings scheduled for July 28, and dredging of the channel was listed as new business.
