Town Commissioners — 2021-06-15

This is the June 15, 2021 special meeting of the Queenstown Commissioners. Commissioners met with Lex Birney and John Anderes to discuss future water and sewer needs for the Queenstown Harbor Golf Course; Birney reported he built three cottages, holds permits for four additional bungalows, and said he ultimately wants 80–100 rooms. Town Manager Amy Moore reviewed the 14 EDUs the Golf Course purchased in 2014 and remaining capacity; Commissioner Hardee said the wastewater treatment plant has roughly 65,000 gpd available and Moore told Birney any additional sewer capacity would need to be paid for and reserved. The commission introduced Ordinance 21-03 to adopt the FY2022 General Fund and Water & Sewer budgets, set a constant-yield tax rate of 0.2026 per $100 of assessed real property and a 0.51 per $100 rate on commercial/business personal property, and include the third of three years’ 5% monthly water and sewer rate increases; the ordinance was scheduled for public hearing on June 30 at 6:00 p.m. A closed session was held to discuss a personnel/contract on-call agreement and obtain legal advice, and the meeting adjourned at 3:32 p.m.
