This record is the Queenstown Commissioners meeting of April 28, 2021, including a 6:30 PM work session and the regular meeting. In the work session commissioners met with Harold Veasel (Queen Anne’s County zoning inspector) to discuss hiring a code enforcement officer to perform weekly patrols and issue notices/citations, and to consider aligning some property-maintenance standards and fees with the County; they will discuss a possible offer later. The regular meeting approved allowing Foundations Island Yoga to hold weekly outdoor classes at the Community Park, and covered Public Works items: MD Rural Water will investigate a Main St. leak May 5, a sewer jetting and camera run is scheduled May 6, the town will use an existing chart recorder for manhole monitoring, John English was authorized to clear a problem ditch by R&D Electric and to be asked to assess other ditch issues, new tires will be purchased from Mr. Tire, and a fence near Royal Farms is scheduled for installation end of May. Planning expects the Trails Master Plan to be forwarded for adoption; boat landing parking enforcement and new signage will be installed; Finance reviewed the American Rescue Plan funding timetable from the State; the Town Clerk reported fund balances (General Fund $155,485.26; Water/Sewer Fund $56,479.38), approved minutes from March 24 and April 19 meetings, and noted boat ramp signs were ordered. The Commissioners agreed to move to two meetings per month beginning in May, and the Town Manager submitted a request to the Boat Act Advisory Committee for a 6-knot speed limit in Queenstown Creek and possible channel dredging; property-maintenance letters were sent out recently.
