Town Commissioners — 2020-11-18

The Queenstown Commissioners met remotely on November 18, 2020. The clerk certified the uncontested election and swore in Commissioner Hardee for a three-year term. Resident Ray Burkhardt raised open-space concerns after the Town removed vegetation behind his home; commissioners agreed to vote at the next meeting on pricing and installing fencing, and to investigate separate drainage problems and early-morning dumpster collections at the Royal Farms. Public Works reported a failed return activated sludge pump at the wastewater plant (one pump running, spare requested with list of needed spares due by Dec. 1) and that water running down Main Street tested positive for chlorine with further testing planned. Planning deferred action on the Wheatland’s Master Plan pending more lot-specific information and noted a possible Planning Commission candidate (Ryan Booth), while Finance reported completion of the HUR report, receipt of the audit report materials, and discussion of cell-tower lease revenue as part of the water/sewer fund. The agenda also listed ongoing items (I&I project, water tower/infrastructure and Dudley property purchase ordinance 20-05, speeding on Main St, boat ramp/landing and dock projects) and introduced Ordinance 20-06 (proposed shift of water meter cost to property owner) and Resolution 20-106 (modify write-in filing deadline) as eligible actions.
