Town Commissioners — 2020-10-28

The Queenstown Commissioners met remotely on October 28, 2020. County sheriff liaisons Sgt. Troy Lowery and Capt. Chris Amoia introduced themselves and discussed increased patrols and temporary speed display signs to address speeding complaints. Public Works reported the Queenstown Village storm pond outfall ditch was opened, a landowner (Wick Dudley) may install piping on his property, the water tower outlet center fence was damaged (claim filed with LGIT), a WWTP consulting proposal from George Frigon was submitted, and a draft ordinance on water meter responsibilities was prepared. Planning noted a resignation from the Planning Commission and receipt of the Wheatland’s Master Development Plan; the Finance Committee had no updates. The Clerk reported fund balances (General: $276,045.08; Water/Sewer: $160,125.07), approved several meeting minutes, rescheduled November and December meetings, canceled the annual Christmas party while keeping a tree display, and the Manager reported the write-in nomination deadline passed so the election was canceled and Commissioner Hardee declared elected, a resolution to move the write-in deadline to 25 days prior to elections was drafted, a proposed $200/month rental of town office space to Nikki Williams was discussed with an agreement to be drafted, I&I smoke testing follow-ups are underway, and staff are pursuing interim financing proposals (about $1,828,000 line of credit for 24 months) for the Water Tower & Infrastructure project with meetings to be scheduled with Dudley/Waterman parties.
