This record is the Queenstown Commissioners work session held July 9, 2020 (virtual) to discuss water/sewer fees, a proposed boardwalk, and a test well for the new water tower project. The Commissioners agreed to raise water allocation/connection fees to $5,500 and sewer fees to $8,000 and directed Town Attorney Lyndsey Ryan to draft an ordinance. They discussed pursuing a boardwalk from the sewer plant to Second Avenue as part of the town’s master trail system and decided to obtain cost estimates and apply for a Maryland Community Parks & Playgrounds grant. Bob Rauch provided a proposal to dig a test well (the grant/loan budget estimated $35,000); the Commissioners noted it may be preferable to contract directly with Shannahan Well to avoid mark-ups, but Ryan flagged potential procurement/legal issues unless Rauch signs and pays under his design-engineer scope; she will follow up. The meeting was called to order by President Tom Willis, included Commissioners Hogie Schuster and Al Hardee, and adjourned at 3:50 p.m. with a 3-0 vote.
