Town Commissioners — 2020-06-24

This is the Queenstown Commissioners remote meeting of June 24, 2020. A public hearing was held on Ordinance 20-01 (the Town general budget for July 1, 2020–June 30, 2021, establishing a constant-yield real property tax rate of 0.1867 per $100 and a commercial/personal property/public utilities tax rate of 0.47 per $100, plus the water/sewer enterprise budget); Amy Moore presented the budgets and there were no public comments. In the regular meeting Matt Reno and residents discussed boat ramp improvements, a petition, amending the dredge permit to include the ramp, restricting and redesigning parking (proposal: 3 trailer spaces and 3–4 vehicle-only spaces), issuing permits/fees, signage/towing, and possible gating or kayak storage; Commissioner Hardee moved to pursue ramp improvements, security, a town park and to strike the old park plan. Paul Cain raised moving a “No Parking” sign on Steamboat Avenue and was advised parking is restricted on one side because the street is narrow and could block emergency/trash access. The agenda also listed ongoing projects (I&I, water tower/infrastructure, Dudley property, connection fees, Wheatland’s project, Main St speeding, fire department tax credit ordinance 20-02), a petition for a planned development (Waterman Family LP) eligible for referral to the Planning Commission, and Resolutions 20-102 and 20-103 adopting job descriptions for Town Manager and Town Clerk-Treasurer as items eligible for adoption; the meeting was held via Zoom with President Thomas B. Willis, Jr., Commissioner Al Hardee, Town Attorney Lyndsey Ryan, and Town Manager/Clerk Amy Moore present (Commissioner Holger Schuster absent).
