This record is the minutes of the Queenstown Commissioners regular meeting held May 27, 2020 (remote due to COVID-19). Key operational updates: wastewater membranes have arrived and a supplier/operator meeting is set to plan removal/replacement, and a burst pipe in the belt press room was repaired. Planning items include a joint Planning Commission/Commissioners session to discuss Wheatland’s concept plan (Barry Waterman to present) and review of a proposed home on Old Wharf Lane. Finance actions: the FY2020–21 budget is complete, Ordinance 20-01 adopting the general and water/sewer budgets and establishing tax rates was introduced with a public hearing set for June 24, 2020, and fund balances were reported (General $131,057.12; Water/Sewer $89,380.51). Other decisions: the Commissioners authorized Hugh Odom’s proposed approach to AT&T lease negotiations and instructed him to relay it, reopened the community park playground and basketball court, approved a l}o/% tax credit for active Queenstown Volunteer Fire Department members who own property and meet criteria (per the motion text), directed continued I & I smoke testing and water-tower geotech/test-well work, agreed to review HOA and special tax district options for Wheatland, will review employee job descriptions/chain of command, and the attorney expects a Dudley property purchase agreement by the end of the week.
