This is the November 20, 2019 meeting of the Queenstown Commissioners. Commissioner Holger Schuster was sworn in to a new three-year term; Perry Stutman’s Volunteer of the Year recognition was deferred due to illness. Town Engineer Robert Rauch updated the I & I (inflow & infiltration) project and recommended grouting (with sleeving or dig-and-replace in some areas); the Commission approved the grouting plan. The Commission approved purchasing the Dudley property for the water tower (subject to conditions) and approved hiring Rauch, Inc. to design the new water tower and infrastructure; Rauch will also propose on the annual capacity report. Public works items included a water outlet waiting on bacteria tests, soil sampling and planned spring planting in a buffer where trees were trimmed, and donated trees from the Arboretum; the Trails Master Plan draft was discussed with County planning and the town trails group. Finance reported the SHA annual report was submitted and the audit is complete; fund balances listed were General Fund $8,883.12 and Water/Sewer Fund $115,208.60, and the Commission approved transferring CD funds to the General Fund if needed. Other actions: October minutes were tabled, the Lions Club was approved for a $250 donation and the purchase of eight $299 lighted snowflakes was approved, a Board of Appeals vacancy will be advertised, a proclamation for American Legion Post #296’s 100th anniversary was issued, and a closed session for personnel was requested; several zoning ordinances (including Ordinances 19-06 through 19-09) were scheduled for a public hearing on 12/18/19.
