Town Commissioners — 2019-08-28

The Queenstown Commissioners meeting on August 28, 2019 (President Thomas B. Willis, Jr., Commissioners Al Hardee and Holger Schuster, and Town Manager/Clerk Amy Moore) covered routine agenda items and project updates. Public Works reported a Pavemaster quote of $106,000 to pave Harbor Lane (planned next fiscal year), SHA permits needed to clean ditches along Royal Farms/Route 301, boardwalk repairs along Rt. 18, cleanup of a ditch and stormwater pond at Queenstown Village, tree removal/trimming and concrete repairs, and ongoing work to secure a new water tower site with interior work on the Outlets tower scheduled the week of 9/16/19. Planning noted continued work on the Trails Master Plan and a Planning Commission recommendation to raise accessory dwelling structure height from 16 ft to 26 ft. The Treasurer reported fund balances (General $147,686.09; Water/Sewer $144,106.07; WWTP $8,259.86), multiple prior meeting minutes were approved, and correspondence included reverted shoreline grant funds, an ESAM meeting on 10/1/19, a planned community shred day for spring 2020, and a resident request for speed bumps in Queenstown Village. During public comment residents raised speeding on Rt. 18 and asked for enforcement and newsletter outreach; the Commission held a closed session on personnel and voted to hire a second full-time public works employee.
