Town Commissioners — 2019-07-24

The July 24, 2019 Queenstown Commissioners meeting included a presentation by Director Haas and Lori Morris of Queen Anne’s County Emergency Services on the approved 2019–2024 Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan and a request that Queenstown adopt the plan. The Commissioners introduced and referred Proposed Ordinance 19-04 (zoning amendments related to the Wheatlands property) to the Planning Commission, and adopted Resolution 19-102 approving participation in the County Hazard Mitigation Plan after removing Exhibit B. Public Works accepted a $2,250 quote from John English to widen Maryland Ave. by 3 ft. on each side pending right-of-way verification, and clerk will schedule a meeting about proposed pipe sleeving. The Commissioners reappointed Mike Bowell to the Planning Commission for a term from Oct. 1, 2019 to Sept. 30, 2024, approved reimbursement support for the August 10 bonfire/movie event, reviewed treasury balances (General Fund $97,494.75; Water/Sewer $48,503.28; WWTP Project $9,259.86), and entered a closed session to discuss a personnel matter and obtain legal advice on contract terms.
