The Queenstown Planning Commission met January 7, 2026 with Chair Matt Reno, commissioners Sue Donaldson, Mike Bowell, Geneva Thrasher-Rieu, and Town Planner Peter Johnston; the Town Manager was absent due to illness. The commission granted a zoning certificate for work at 7300 Maryland Avenue (a three-season room and a 344 sq ft front porch, increasing the lot impervious/coverage to about 18.5–19%) contingent on the lot and parcel being conforming, the lot size not exceeding 5,445 sq ft, and mitigation by planting four new trees. Public comment included resident Jim Watzin raising concerns about bulk/waste pickup timing and workload, a suggestion for a community dumpster, and stormwater/ditch maintenance causing leaves and debris in his yard; the commission asked the Town Manager and Public Works to identify which pipes are town vs. private, consider ways to keep pollution from reaching the river, and possibly clean ditches along Old Wharf Lane. The commission approved the December 3, 2025 minutes as written and adjourned at 6:42 p.m.
