Planning Commission — 2025-10-01

The Queenstown Planning Commission met Oct. 1, 2025 (6:00–6:54 p.m.) with members present in person and one by Zoom. Patrick Betzner spoke for Kathleen Snyder about a revised subdivision plat for 6915 Main St.; the submitted plat was denied due to zoning issues and the commission recommended the applicant’s engineers contact the town planner. Town Manager Amy Moore reported submitting a $925,000 Waterway Improvement Fund application to DNR for channel dredging (total project cost $2.4M), that water infrastructure work is over budget and the town is seeking private funding, that Old Wharf Lane sewer replacement will begin mid-November using ARPA funds, that plant filters have been ordered and the town is currently covering costs, and that commissioners asked the fire department to consider changes after resident complaints about a fire alarm siren. The commission voted to recommend that the commissioners revise the zoning ordinance to meet Maryland SB 891 (accessory dwelling unit and accessory building provisions) and asked the town planner to resolve a disconnect between the Permissible Uses Table and the Table of Height, Area and Bulk; they also approved the Aug. 6, 2025 minutes.
