The Queenstown Planning Commission met May 7, 2025; commissioners present considered and recommended appointment of Sue Donaldson to fill a commission vacancy (motion by Paul Cain, seconded by Mike Bowell, unanimous). Town Manager updates included the death and service information for Lane Cole; a note that the county is not currently changing its code on vertical lift aircraft; a new water tank and related infrastructure project out to bid with bids due the first week of June; and commissioners’ approval of redesign services for breakwater/dredge material with a DNR dredging grant preliminarily approved for $1.5 million. Ms. Moore reported meeting with Tom Leigh of the Alliance for Chesapeake Buy about free technical assistance and potential funding; commissioners noted inaccurately labeled channel signage and discussion of the town center being identified as residential/commercial. Old business items (Queenstown Corridor Management Plan and Nicholson/Clark subdivision) remain unresolved with no new submission on the subdivision, and the commission agreed to recommend issuing a solar permit for 102 Dudley Ave.; April 2 minutes were approved and the meeting adjourned at 6:36 p.m.
