The Queenstown Planning Commission met Nov. 1, 2023 (in-person and via Zoom) with six commissioners present. Guest Peter Robertson described plans to restore a porch and add a three-sided carport with skylight and hurricane-rated components; the commission advised him to prepare documents and apply to the Board of Appeals for a setback variance. There was no public comment. The Town Manager reported that the commission approved a 10-year Breezeline renewal and a Comcast agreement, a permit has been filed for utility lines, Talkie has inquired about providing internet, the town is awaiting a DRRA from Mr. Waterman, paving work at the dock is expected to start next week, and commissioners’ holiday meeting schedule noted Nov. 15 and Dec. 13. Old business items: Wheatlands/Waterman — adjacent owners called seeking an easement and requested 1,000 gallons of sewer through the Wheatlands pump station and may prepare an annexation request; Queenstown Corridor Management Plan — Commissioner Mike Bowell received the SHA Administration Landscape Design guide (175 pages); Recreational cannabis — a motion to amend regulations to limit cannabis south of Route 301 was made by Paul Cain, seconded by Geneva Thrasher-Rieu, with Mike Bowell opposed. The commission approved the Oct. 4, 2023 minutes (motion by Paul Cain, second by Mike Bowell) and adjourned at 8:03 p.m.
