The Planning Commission met May 3, 2023 and covered updates, old business, and several approvals. Town Manager reported receipt of $685,000 in ARPA funds earmarked for a Wall Street water main replacement and a sewer line on Old Wharf Lane; she also noted formation of a five-member street safety task force (first meeting May 13) and that the sheriff has allocated overtime for three 4-hour patrol shifts per week. Commissioners discussed budget projections, looked into parking rules for trailers/oversized vehicles, and reviewed two ongoing items: Wheatland’s (DRRA work continuing; water/sewer delayed until residential development after Royal Farms pulled out) and the Queenstown Corridor Management Plan (Peter Johnston will seek an example plan). In new business the commission approved a permit review for a food trailer (Jack Frost Snowballs), made a finding that the Queenstown Golf Course is consistent with QA CA Programs subject to complying with the Blue Heron Rookery condition, accepted the annual report to be forwarded to the Maryland Department of Planning, approved the April 5 minutes, and adjourned at 8:14 p.m.
