The Queenstown Planning Commission met March 1, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. with Commissioners Matt Reno, Geneva Thrasher-Rieu, Amy Moore in person and Peter Johnston, Mike Bowell, Paul Cain attending virtually. There was no public comment. Town Manager updates included approval of an Eagle Scout project to install three boat safety stations, estimates for small-dock pilings (one at $11,000, others over $50,000), near-completion of dock work, a $100,000 DNR grant to study federal channel dredging with property-owner approvals being sought and a suggested addition to research funding sources, meetings with Comcast about bringing internet/cable in late 2023/early 2024, and talks with Haven Ministries and Shore Fellowship about renovating part of a church to provide resources for displaced individuals. Old business items reported as in-progress were work on Wheatland’s Phase 1 PWA, review of road design standards, the Queenstown Corridor Management Plan (noting US 301’s scenic-byway classification and related study discussions), and an ongoing subdivision application for 646 Del Rhodes Ave (preliminary approval granted 12/7/22). New business noted the passing of former resident Kit Foster and a preliminary concept meeting for a par-3 executive course and event barn with wildlife group and DNR involvement; the February 1, 2023 minutes were approved and the meeting adjourned at 7:32 p.m.
