These are the minutes for the Queenstown Planning Commission meeting on February 1, 2023, called to order at 7:00 p.m. A guest, Carol Purdue, an occupational therapist, discussed the need for a creative assisted-living model and suggested researching Cottage Cluster concepts. The Town Manager reported on dock repairs and a walkthrough scheduled for 2/3, discussions with Outlets about the town taking over certain water and sewer mains to enable connection of the Waterman property, resubmission of documents to USDA for a water storage tank project, an MDE funding application for a mandated water line inventory (including looking for lead lines), SHA contact about extending sidewalks as part of trail work (Queenstown Harbor will not maintain the sidewalk), and estimates to drive pilings at the boat ramp. Old business updates included attorney work on Wheatland’s Phase I PWA/subdivision review, commissioners reviewing Road Design Standards, the Queenstown Corridor Management Plan pending, and a subdivision application for 646 Del Rhodes Ave with outstanding legal issues. In new business the Commission approved the January 4, 2023 minutes and discussed increased traffic on US 301 and accidents at the Del Rhodes intersection; the meeting adjourned at 7:53 p.m.
