Planning Commission — 2021-11-03

This is the Queenstown Planning Commission meeting of November 3, 2021. Commissioners (Amy Moore, Phil Snyder, Mike Bowell, Geneva Rieu, Paul Cain, Peter Johnston) met with no guests and no public comment. Town Manager updates reported dredging bids were higher than the original grant so DNR modified the grant to $100,000 with work planned for late November/early December; Stable Solutions is completing foam injection; dock repairs have not yet been put out to bid; Ordinance 21-07 (recreational vehicles/equipment) has a hearing on November 17; hydrant flushing is scheduled for November 18–19; there have been complaints about large trucks cutting through Dudley Ave and the town has contacted the Sheriff and prepared an educational flier; and the Tree Lighting is scheduled for December 10 (6–9 pm) with a Christmas Decoration contest (sign-up by 12/3, $5 entry, decorated by 12/9, pictures on FB and a map provided at the Tree Lighting). Old business: the Wheatland’s (Waterman Family LP) Forest Conservation plan is under review with additional information requested; two bids were received for boat landing and parking improvements; fence standards drew two public comments about neighbor maintenance and chain-link prohibition and included discussion of using “breast high” as a measurement; and the Community Parks and Playground grant was noted for spring 2022. New business actions: the commission approved a site plan for a 24x24 pole barn at 111 Charity Lane and approved a solar plan at 6740 Main St; they moved to certify the 9.3.21 zoning map as accurate; discussed drafting a cover letter and comments for the QA County Comprehensive Plan and suggested the county do its own trails survey and pursue partners for advocacy; the October meeting minutes were accepted; the meeting adjourned at 8:09 pm.
