Planning Commission — 2021-10-06

The Queenstown Planning Commission met on October 6, 2021 to review several development items, hear public comment, and receive town updates. The commission discussed a conceptual site plan for an office building at the Kevin Dey property on Melvin Ave (traffic flow, 6 employees, contractor bays, no signage; Geneva offered a walkthrough and neighbors were urged to be consulted). The commission voted to accept changes to the approved site plan for Queenstown Harbor Golf Cottages (motion by Peter via email, no opposition) and reviewed Ted Baker’s request to rezone 328 Cherry Lane to County SC Suburban Commercial to align with the town’s master plan (no immediate development planned). Town manager updates included a proposed revision to the water/sewer inspection code, a $100,000 FY2023 waterway improvement grant application for dredging and shoreline restoration, receipt of half of $684,000 in American Recovery Funds to be used for stormwater projects and water tower refurbishment, and an announcement of a Town Hall on 10/13 to present the trails plan. Old business items reported progress: the Wheatland’s forest conservation plan is under engineer review, concrete panels for boat landing/parking improvements have been delivered, a fence-standards ordinance was set for public hearing on 10/26/21, and a Community Parks/Playground grant application for a boardwalk section expects an April 2022 turnaround; the commission recommended approval of the drainage repair/grading plan for 700 Del Rhodes Ave, approved the September 1 minutes, and discussed but did not adopt recording meetings online.
