Minutes of the Queenstown Planning Commission meeting on December 4, 2019. The meeting was called to order at 7:01 p.m.; attendees included Phil Snyder (Chair), Matt Reno (Vice Chair), Loretta Hohmann (Secretary), Mike Bowell, Paul Cain, and Town Planner Peter Johnston; Town Manager Amy Moore was absent. On the Trails Master Plan the Commission decided to delay broad data gathering until January 2020 or spring, will hold a Saturday huddle to plan the survey, and noted the municipal plan can later be presented to the county for connections; they also discussed trails’ economic benefits and added value to homes. In response to a letter from Queenstown Bank of Maryland about repurposing an LED sign, the Commission reached consensus not to change the ordinance to allow LED signage, saying it is not consistent with town character. The Commission approved the November 6, 2019 minutes (vote 5–0), heard no public comment, and adjourned at 7:57 p.m. The Town Manager’s written update reported the death of Perry Stutman; John Fitzgerald is moving and Heather Comegys will become a full Board of Appeals member; public hearings on Ordinances 19-06 through 19-09 are scheduled for 12/18/19; a Holiday Open House is set for 12/11; and the town hired a second Public Works employee, Brian Miller, who started on 1212.
