Planning Commission — 2019-09-18

The Queenstown Planning Commission met September 18, 2019 to hold public hearings and take actions on two zoning and plan amendments. Public hearings were held on Resolution 19-101 (amending the 2017 Comprehensive Plan for future development of Wheatland Farm) and Resolution 19-103 (amending PD floating zones and the Permissible Uses Table to allow mixed‑use development that can include single‑family residences and to limit the percentage of residential use per site); both resolutions received no public opposition and were adopted (19-101 vote: 5-0; 19-103 vote: 5-0). Discussion included a planner’s note that the Wheatland growth allocation change from age‑restricted to non‑age‑restricted could be addressed in the next update, county and state agency comments on Wheatland, and that the mixed‑use draft was consistent with 19-101. Other updates: the town is seeking about 1/3 acre for a new water tower site with vehicle parking; the Trails Master Plan Chapter 1 was reviewed and volunteers may inventory sidewalks; and a Forest Conservation Ordinance was discussed with applicability to Wheatland and quarry properties, tree removal on Rt. 50, and a separate offset fund tracked by annual report. The commission also discussed discontinuing newspaper meeting ads (keeping agenda postings) and approved the August 8, 2019 minutes.
