The March 6, 2019 Planning Commission meeting approved the February 6 work session and regular meeting minutes, reviewed a Queen Anne’s County major site plan for a proposed assisted living facility on Nesbitt Road (requesting larger and digital plans and asking that a future pedestrian crossover/trail exaction and right-of-way be considered), and discussed a Trails Master Plan proposal to add two pedestrian crossings to Wheatlands and connect the Cross Trail to the Bay Bridge while noting funding and right-of-way concerns. Commissioners agreed to present the trails proposal to the Town Commissioners for direction. The Commission concluded no Town text amendment is needed for Wheatlands; the property owner should apply under existing planned floating zones (regional commercial, family home, mixed-use options were discussed) and was to be informed about development rights/responsibilities (DRA) and LEED references in Chapter 20. The Town Manager update reported a rescheduled community meeting (Mar 19), an upcoming meeting about water tower land acquisition, that Amy Moore is now a notary, DMS found the Queenstown Harbor Golf Course road-extension stormwater plan compliant and recommended approval (the Commissioners approved it), the start of the FY2020 budget process, the decision not to adopt Ordinance 18-05 zoning map pending golf course plans, follow-up on a property maintenance court case, consideration of hiring/shared code enforcement, and the appointment of Heather Comegys as an alternate to the Board of Appeals.
