The Planning Commission met August 1, 2018 (7:02–8:43 p.m.) with Chair Philip Snyder, Vice Chair Matt Reno, and other members present. Barry Waterman presented a rough sketch and concepts for development of his 2.5-acre property zoned for apartments/townhouses, suggesting a mixed-use approach with residential (townhomes/apartments) and small commercial pads (4–5, possibly food service); commissioners expressed support for mixed-use on the west portion and asked to review a more detailed concept later. The Commission unanimously voted to recommend that the Board of Appeals approve Ashley Alton’s application to increase her in-home daycare capacity by one child (to five). Town updates reported replaced membranes at the sewage treatment plant, ongoing camera work to find leaks, water use versus plant flow figures, upcoming street paving and ditch work, and that Resolution 18-102 (Dudley family annexation) was tabled pending an August 14 meeting; the Commission will also follow up with the owner of the old Getty station about property upkeep. Minutes for June 6 and July 11 were approved unanimously and there was no public comment.
