Planning Commission — 2016-09-07

The Queenstown Planning Commission met on September 7, 2016 and discussed several land-use and town projects. The Commission voted to recommend that the Board of Appeals approve the Bowlingly Events Center application and additionally require a Transportation Plan (including parking locations), a Site Plan showing event equipment and facilities, and contact information for the person in charge of each event. The Planner will determine the zoning for George Law’s property so he can be advised about running a parts business or internet sales from his garage. Updates from the Town Commissioner noted a contract awarded to Wickersham to remove and replace a building at the Wastewater Treatment Plant site, Melvin Avenue repaving is out to bid, and Project Open Space approved funding toward a park at the Wastewater Treatment Plant site though another funding step remains. The Commission agreed to add a draft revision to the Comprehensive Plan to list Dudley Home Farm as appropriate for annexation to bring Salt House Cove into the near-term growth area, directed the Planner to prepare a letter addressing required findings for the Wheatlands Growth Allocation petition, and declined to guarantee buildability for a property owner querying about a lot adjacent to the Ebb Tide site. The August 3, 2016 minutes were approved (three ayes, one abstention) and the meeting adjourned.
