Planning Commission — 2016-05-04

The Queenstown Planning Commission met May 4, 2016. The commission granted a one-year zoning certificate (unanimous) to Josh Shonts to operate a food truck/catering van at 500 Del Rhodes Avenue, and Hogie Schuster will notify the Town Clerk. Gene Thomas expressed interest in buying 108 Wall Street to operate a boat propeller repair business (3–4 employees, 5–6 trucks expected); Peter Johnston will investigate. Jenny Walton was advised that converting the garage at 130 Old Wharf Lane to a mother-in-law unit is outside the critical area and can be pursued as a special exception to the Planning Commission and then the Board of Appeals. Pat Sorroco asked for help removing an unsightly barbed-wire fence at the wastewater treatment plant (WWTP); commissioners will visit the site and make a recommendation. The commission received Draft 2016 Comprehensive Plan (Version 5-3-16, Sections 1–4) for review, was presented a proposed Annual Report to send to the Town Commissioners, and set Resolution PC 16-001 and the Cohee application for discussion at a May 23 workshop; minutes were approved and the meeting adjourned at 8:35 p.m.
