These are the Queenstown Town Commissioners minutes for July 26, 2023. Present were President Al Hardee, Commissioners Tom Willis and Bryon Callahan, Town Manager Amy Moore, Town Clerk Aaron Horney, and Town Attorney Lyndsey Ryan. Public works updates included rip rap installed on one side of the R&D ditch (other side estimated at $2,500), a stormwater pond at Queenstown Village scheduled for work later in the week, and a resident request for tree trimming quotes for roots and dead branches. The Safety & Speeding Task Force presented bump-out renovation ideas and locations for street furniture and requested cost estimates; the town is applying for Speed Feedback Sign permits (permanent placement may take up to a year; temporary is faster). Events updates noted about 25 people attended the last park concert and a clothing swap event is being planned for August; playground work is expected to be completed by the end of August. Infrastructure items: Rauch is putting the I&I project out to bid and recommended a 60-day inspector at $600/day (Commissioners will discuss); the new water tower ER/PER is with USDA; Wall Street water line replacement is complete; marine projects include a pier estimate (~$30,000) the Commissioners think is high, town dock paving bids (R.L. Ewing $99,949.10 recommended), and a Bayland survey crew for federal channel dredging next week. Policy and development notes: Comcast requested to begin ROW work before a franchise agreement is approved but Commissioners want an agreement in place first; Breezeline will require a public hearing; the Planning Commission must begin updating zoning to address recreational cannabis (public comment urged the town consider potential tax revenue). Town clerk reported fund balances as listed in the minutes; the fireworks contract for the fair (9/8, rain date 9/9) was signed. The meeting adjourned at 7:22 PM by a 3-0 vote.
