The Queenstown Commissioners met June 6, 2023 and handled multiple public-works, marine, and utility items. QUEENSTOWN COMMISSIONERS June 6,2023 PRBSENT: President Al Hardee, Commissioners Tom Willis & Bryon Callahan, Town Manager Amy Moore, Town Clerk Aaron Horney, Town Attorney Lyndsey Ryan REGULAR MEETING CALLED TO ORDER AT 4:OOPM GUESTS - (None) PUBLIC WORKS o Quotes for speed bumps presented- Robert & Son lowest at $2,100 for five 4in. by 13 ft. bumps. Commissioners agree only 4 bumps needed. Callahan motion to accept quote oI $2,100from Robert & Son. Willis second. VOTE: 3 aye - 0 nay. Ms. Moore will inquire if price can be lowered due to only 4 bumps needed. o Electric main service that feeds subpanel at town dock is shot. Need to repair before checking rest of electric service. Cost to repair $1,925. Commissioners ask to see if work can be added to grant work at docks before proceeding. Ms. Moore will look into. o Town was looking into automating valves at plant for membrane cleaning process as part of membrane replacement plan. Quote received for actuators/stem extensions needed was $8,905.50 from Chemline Plastics, was the lowest of 3 quotes. Plant operator wants to order parts to have in hand for test fiuing to existing piping. Rauch will be bidding out other elements needed for automation in June. Will inform seller of town's interest. PLANNING COMMISSION (no updates) SAFETY & SPBEDING TASK FORCE o SHA to apply upgraded markings on the 6 crosswalks in Town Center areathis week. . QAC Sheriffs Office submitted patrol activity data for May 22,29 & 30.4 hours each day. Total of 5 citations and 3 warnings issued total over the 3 days. . Task Force member Tereza Hagerstrom submitted recommendations for making the town more pedestrian friendly/safe including benches along sidewalks and at the park, marking of crosswalks, general beautification of town center areao etc. o Discussion of recent issues at town docks at night- how to address? Will contact Sheriff s Office to patrol arca during active times. Possibly look into cameras for dock areas. Federal Channel Dredging 4 proposals received from engineering firms to study, analyze, ffid prepare concept drawings for material dredging/placement. DNR has reviewed and approves all firms' work. How to deal with situation- can signs be installed? Not clear on who has right of way as Charity is naffow- used to be a mirror at intersection for better view.
