QUEENSTOWh{ COMMISSIONERS Special Meeting February 1612024 PRESENT: President Al Hardee, Commissioners Tom Willis & Bryon Callahan, and Town Manager Amy Moore, and Brian Fitzgerald from Rauch, [nc.
SPECIAL MEETING CALLED TO ORDER AT 9:OO AM
GUESTS
Paul DaBaldo and Wallace Carroll from Comcast, and Ryan Ewing from AccuTrench were present at the Commissioners request to discuss concenn with the installation of the ground boxes for the internet service. The Town has received complaints about the locations and size of the boxes in several areas of town. Brian Fitzgerald stated that on the approved plans, the pedestal is called out to be 6"x6". What is installed out there is much larger, more lke 24"x36". In
addition, the Commissioners advised that they are intrusive and do not look appealing. After some discussion, it was agreed that Comcast would install flush mounts with taps in all areas of town that is feasible. Some of the hubs cannot be changed due to them being a main connector.
Mr. DaBaldo will have his staff get an address list pulled together and will be working with his team to identiff what can be replaced and will advise the Town.
The Commissioners also made them aware that the Town experienced the failure of two pumps at our Del Rhodes pump station on Wednesday, February 14tr'. This was due to the underground electric line having been nicked in two places, resulting in a section of the line burning up due to moisture from the ground. The Delmarva Electric crew that responded to the service call advised that it was cut on town property and could have been done when the Comcast subcontractor cut
the telephone line several weeks earlier when trenching line. No other trenching or digging had been done in that area. The Town will investigate this further with the sewer plant operator before deciding on how to proceed.
There being no further business, Hardee motion to adjourn the special meeting at I0:15 a.m.. Callahan second. YOTE: 3 alte - 0 nalt.
Respectfu lly submitted,
