A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN OF QUEENSTOWN TO DESTGNATE
THE CODE OFFICIAL TO TAKE ACTION ON BEHALF OF THE TOWN
TO ENFORCE REGULATORY PROVISIONS OF THE QUEENSTOWI\
TOWN CODE
WHEREAS, Maryland Code, Local Government, $ 6-103 authorizes any official
authorized by the legislative body of a municipality to act as an enforcement officer to serve
citations on a person who is committing or has committed a municipal infraction; and
WHEREAS, Chapter 9 of the Queenstown Town Code authorizes the Code Enforcement
Officer to take action on behalf of the Town to enforce a regulatory provision of the Queenstown
Town Code; and
WHEREAS, "Code Enforcement Officer" is defined in the Queenstown Town Code as the
"Town Clerk, or any person or entity designated or appointed by the Commissioners of Queenstown
to serve as code official."; and
WHEREAS, the Commissioners have determined that it is desirable and in the public
interest to designate a Code Enforcement Officer to take action on behalf of the Town to enforce a
regulatory provision of the Queenstown Town Code.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSIONERS OF
QUEENSTOWN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Commissioners of Queenstown hereby designate and appoint the Code
Enforcement Officer as an authorized designee to take action on behalf of the Town to enforce a
regulatory provision of the Queenstown Town Code.
