A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN OF QUEENSTOWI\ ADOPTTNG TIrE 2025 QUEEN
AI\NE'S COUNTY MULTI.JURISDICTIONAL HAZARD MITIGATION PLAI\
WHEREAS, the Commissioners of Queenstown rccognize the threat that natural hazards pose to
people and property within the town of Queenstown; and
WHEREAS, Queenstown staff participated jointly with the Queen Anne's County Department of
Emergency Services and other local units of government within the County in the planning process
for the 2025 Queen Anne's County Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan ("the Plan"),
developed in accordance with federal requirements including the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief
and Emergency Assistance Act, the National Flood Insurance Act of 1968, and the National Dam
Safety Program Act; and
WHEREAS, the Plan identifies mitigation goals and actions to reduce or eliminate long-term risks
to people and property in Queenstown from future hazards and disasters; and
WHEREAS, adoption of the Plan by the Commissioners of Queenstown demonstrates the
commitment to hazard mitigation and the implementation of the Plan's goals and actions; and
WHEREAS, an adopted hazard mitigation plan is a condition of eligibility for future FEMA
Hazard Mitigation Assistance funding.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSIONERS OF QUEENSTOWN
MARYLAND, THAT:
1. The Commissioners of Queenstown hereby adopt the 2025 Queen Anne's County Multi-
Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan.
2.
The Queen Anne's County Department of Emergency Services is authorized to submit the
adopted Plan, on behalf of participating municipalities, to the Federal Emergency
Management Agency for final review and approval.
3.
This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its passage and adoption.
