RESOLUTION NO.2O.1O1
A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMISSIONERS OF QUEENSTOW|I TO
ADOPT AN INFLUENZA AAID PAI{DEMIC POLICY
WHEREAS, the Commissioners of Queenstown are authoized to adopt such legislation as it may deem necessary for the protection and preservation of the town's property and for the protection and promotion of health and safety of town employees and citizens; and WHEREAS, pursuant to the Town of Queenstown Charter, Section 19-10, the Commissioners haVe the authority to protect and preserve the health of the Town and its
inhabitants; to appoint a public health officer, and to define and regulate his powers and duties;
to prevent the introduction of contagious diseases into the town; to establish quarantine regulations, and to authorize the rernoval and confinement of persons having contagious or infectious diseases; to prevent and rernove all nuisances; to inspect, regulate, and abate any buildings, structures, or places which cause or may cause unsanitary conditions or conditions detrimental to health; provided, that nothing herein shall be construed to affect in any manner
any of the powers and duties of the State Board of Health, the county board of health, or any public, general or local law relating to the subject of health; and WHEREAS, the Commissioners of Queenstown have an obligation to ensure that during significant events that may impact parts or all of Town operations, public health, safety, or welfare that essential functions will continue to operate and services will continue to be
provided to the public to the best extent possible while protecting the Town residents and staff from the spread of influenza or similar pandemic; and WHEREAS, in order for the Commissioners to execute their obligation to ensure public health, safety, and welfare during influenza outbreaks or pandernics, it may be necessary to suspend or modiff certain rules and regulations as established by the Town of Queenstown
Personnel Manual as set forth in the Influenza and Pandemic Policy attached hereto and incorporated herein; and WHEREAS, the Commissioners have determined that it is desirable and in the public interest to adopt an Influenza and Pandemic Policy.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Commissioners of Queenstown, that the Queenstown Influenza and Pandemic Policy, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated byreference herein, BE Al[D IS HEREBY ADOPTED.
