sEcTroN 3.7 OF THE QUEENSTOWT\ CODE TO PROHIBIT THE
PARIilNG OF VEHICLES AND TRAILERS ON PUBLIC PROPERTY
WHERE A SIGN IS POSTED PROHIBITING PARKING BY THE
coMMrssroNERS oF QUEENSTOWN
WHEREAS, the Commissioners of Queenstown are authoized by the Maryland Code
Annotated, Local Government Article, S 5-202 to pass ordinances that the Town Commissioners
deern necessary to protect the health, comfort and convenience of its citizens; and
WHEREAS, the Commissioners of Queenstown are authorized by the Maryland Code
Annotated, Transportation Article, $ 26-301 to adopt ordinances or regulations that regulate the
parking of vehicles, including regulating the towing of vehicles from publicly owned and
privately-owned parking lots, as well as the issuance of citations for a violation of parking
regulations adopted by the municipality; and
WHEREAS, the Commissioners of Queenstown have determined that it is desirable and
in the public interest to amend Chapter 3 of the Queenstown Town Code, Section 3-7 to prohibit
the parking of vehicles and trailers on public property where a sign is posted prohibiting parking
by the Commissioners of Queenstown.
NOW THEREFORE, the Commissioners of Queenstown hereby ordain as
follows:
Section 1. Section 3.7 is hereby amended as follows:
Section 3.7 Parking in prohibited places.
B. A person shall not cause or knowingly permit a vehicle, boat trailer,
camping trailer, oversized vehicle, mobile home, semi-trailer, trailer, or travel
trailer, owned by him or under his control to be parked on public properV
where a sign is posted prohibiting parking. Sigzs prohibiting parking shall be
posted ny ine Cimmissioners of Queenstown, or any agent or designee of the
Town of Queenstown pursuant to the authority of the Queenstown
Commissioners.
BC. Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this
ordinance shali receive a municipat infraction citation, either in person or by
having same placed in a conspicuous place on the vehicle which he or she was
usinglt the time of the violati,on of said provisions, to appear before the District
Court of Queen Anne's County, to answer a charge of violating the provisions of
this Ordinance; provided, however, that if the person, firm or corporation may pay
the fine or fines charges against them, have the effect of dismissing this citation.

In addition to a municipal infraction, any violation of this Chapter shall result
in the removal and storage of the violator's vehicle, boat trailer, camping
trailer, oversized vehicle, mobile home, semi-trailer, trailer, or travel trailer,
which costs shall be borne by the owner in addition to any fine.
In any prosecution charging a violation of this Ordinance, proof that the particular
vehicle described in the summons was parked in violation of the Ordinance,
together with proof that the defendant named in the summons was parked in
violation of the Ordinance, together with proof that the defendant named in the
sufilmons was at the time of such parking or other unlawful act the registered
owner of such vehicle, shall constitute a prima facie presumption that the
registered owner of such vehicle was the person who parked and placed vehicle at
the point, where, and for the time during which such violation occurred.
eD.If any section or provision, or part thereof, of this Ordinance shall be
adjudged invalid or unconstitutional by a court of competent jurisdiction, such
jurisdiction shall not affect the validity of the Ordinance as a whole, or any
section, provision or part thereof, not adjudged invalid or unconstitutional.
Section 2. Unless specifically amended as set forth above, all other provisions of the
Queenstown Town Code shall rernain unchanged.
Section 3. If any section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase of this Ordinance is,
for any reason, held to be unconstitutional, such decision shall not affect the validity of the
rernaining portions of this Ordinance. The Town Commissioners of Queenstown hereby declare
that they would have passed this Ordinance, and each section, subsection, clause or phrase
thereof,lrrespective of the fact that any one or more sections, subsections, sentences, clauses and
phrases be declared unconstitutional.

BOAT LANDING USE & PARKING REGULATIONS
Users of this boat landing are required to follow Town regulations. Pursuant to
Sections 3.7 and 13. I of the Queenstown Town Code, a person found in violation of
this sign will be found in violation of the Queenstown Town Code and may be found
guilty of a municipal infraction and charged a fine. In addition to fines being
assessed, failure to follow this sign will result in your vehicle or trailer being towed
and stored at the vehicle or trailer owner's expense.
The Commissioners of Queenstown hereby impose the following regulations on the
boat landing and parking area:
1. Persons using the boat landing and launch arca do so at their own risk. The
Town shall not be responsible for loss, damage, or any kind of injury sustained
by using the boat landing or launch area.
2. All trucks/trailers/passenger vehicles must park in designated parking areas.
3. No parking in, or blocking of, the "boat trailer launch zone" area.
4. No parking on grass, except in spaces clearly marked.
5. No overflow parking is provided - if parking spaces are full, please leave the
premises.
6. No parking along Skipjack Cove Lane unless spaces are marked for such.
7. No blocking of other vehicles/trailers. Unattended vehicles blocking others
will be towed.
8. Consumption of alcohol is prohibited.
9. Trash must be placed in receptacles provided or must be removed from the
premises.
