A regular meeting of the Queenstown Planning Commission was held on May 3,,2017 at
7:00 p.m. at the Town Office. Present were Planning Commission members, Willie Comegys, Al
Hardee, Phil Snyder, and Betty White. Guests present were Peter Johnston, Town Planner,
George Plumbo, Town Commissioner, Mike Bowelland Kevin Dey.
Al Hardee, Chairman, brought the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
Guests'Time: no guest speakers.
NEW BUSINESS
1.
Town Gommissioners Updates:
1.1 Mr. Plumbo reported that the Town Commissioners are currently working on
the budget and revisions to Town rental policies pertained to collection of overdue water bills by
tenants.
.2 Kevin Dey - Rezoning request.
Kevin Dey addressed the meeting with a request for zoning change for his property
located on Melvin Avenue. He indicated that the property is currently zoned R-2 Residential.
Since the property fronts on Rt. 301 and is surrounded by commercial uses, he wants
consideration to have his property rezoned Highway Commercial. Peter Johnston suggested that
if the Planning Commission wishes to consider Mr. Dey's request, it should include an
amendment in the draft community plan to update land use policy
After detailed discussion, it was moved by Phil Snyder, seconded by Willie Comegys,
That the Planning Gommission hereby directs the Town Planner to amend the Draft
Gommunity Plan to include a land use policy change for Melvin Avenue Parcel 141, Map
51.
This motion was carried unanimously.
OLD BUSINESS
l. Updated Gommunity Plan: Peter Johnston noted that he and the Town have received
written comments from Peter Robertson and John (Ned) Foster. He indicated that most of Mr.
Robertson's comments were technical and/or corrections to typographical errors. Mr. Foste/s
comments addressed possible future annexation of the Bennett Point Road area into the Town.
This was deemed inappropriate for inclusion in the updated Community Plan at this time.
After detailed discussion, it was moved by Al Hardee, seconded by Betty White
That the Town Planner shall amend the Draft Gommunity Plan to include
appropriate comments made by Peter Robertson and present a final draft at the next
Planning Commission meeting.
This motion was carried unanimously.

2. Medical Gannabis Discussion: Al Hardee distributed to the Planning Commissioners an
Action ltem from the County Department of Planning and Zoning dated January 31, 2017 Re:
Text AmendmenUCounty Ordinance 17-06 Medical Cannabis. He asked that the Commissioners
review the memorandum and be prepared to discuss possible options for Queenstown at the next
Planning Commission meeting.
