These are the minutes of the Queenstown Planning Commission meeting on August 4, 2021. Town Manager updates reported a sewer capacity analysis for the Wheatlands development found no immediate upgrades were needed (planning should begin when 85% capacity is reached), the golf course needs additional EDUs, Greenlee Group is contracted for the Wheatlands project, and the golf course stormwater management plan meets standards; upcoming community events and dates were noted. On old business commissioners raised liability and maintenance concerns about the Trails Master Plan and suggested the town not be locked into maintaining trails; Zoning Ordinance and Critical Area amendments were adopted after a 7/28 public hearing; an impact study contract for Wheatlands was noted; boat landing and parking improvements were advanced (purchase of concrete pods approved, only one dock bid received, DNR review and dredging to occur before dock work, with boats/vehicles to be moved); fence material standard amendments were adopted and recommended to Town Commissioners; and a Community Parks & Playground grant plan for FY2023 was outlined in three phases (boardwalk with bump-out and educational element, second boardwalk on 2nd Ave, and a handicap kayak launch) with state grant applications opening April 2022. New business included proposed amendments to boat and trailer parking standards (to allow double trailers for personal watercraft, require vehicle registration, and add setbacks) which Peter Johnston will revise for the September meeting; the commission will provide comments to the county on the 2021 comprehensive plan once the Trails Plan is adopted; the July 7, 2021 minutes were approved; and the meeting adjourned at 8:15 P.M.
