Queenstown Planning Commission August 2,2023 Minutes PRESENT: Members Phil Snyder, Matt Reno and Geneva Thrasher-Rieu. Also present via Zoom were Town Manager Amy Moore and Town Planner Peter Johnston Meeting called to order at 7:00 pm
GUESTS:
Tom Davis, DMS Associates: requested guidance from PC on zoningand environmental concerns and submitted concept plan for the par three golf course addition to the existing facilities at Queenstown Harbor Golf. Matt Reno motioned PC approve concept plan as the Planning Commission finds the proposed use of a par three golf course to be consistent with the Queenstown Critical Area Program. Motion seconded by Geneva Thrasher-Rieu, all in favor.
Motion passed. The Planning Commission authoized staffto issue aZoningCertificate when plans are finalized, and all habitat protection requirements related to the Heron Rookery are satisfied.

TOWN MANAGBR UPDATES:

New Cannabis law, Commissioners asking for evaluation of current town ordnance regarding sale of cannabis;
o Safety/Speeding Task force: proposal to renovate clock peninsula to add seating and a tree for shade, bench seating on boardwalk, at post office, and other areas;
o State Highways studying traffic safety recommendations, will be adding pedestrian thermoplastic on roads at crosswalks; speed feedback signs purchased, waiting on permit to be able to install. Per Matt Reno, MD legislation changed to allow municipalities to place speed limit signs for zones less than 35 mph, and he will provide vendor info for ticketing equipment.
o Phase I of federal dredging project about to begin, Bay Land Consultants and Design, Blakeford and QH are in support o County getting inquiries about Wheatland's development because SHA removing trees along Rt. 50; confirmed not part of Wheatland's; DRRA received week prior o Events: Randall Butler 8112, Firemen's fair 918-8, Community yard sale 0l2l 1

NEW BUSINESS:
o Minutes - tabled until next meet due to no quorum from previous meeting present o Inquiry from Geneva Thrasher-Rieu regarding any developments on the Dey property by Lacrosse. Property is back on the market by the owner and no new inquiries through the office at this time.
There being no further business before the Commission, Matt Reno motioned to adjourn the meeting at 7:29 p.m. Motion seconded by Geneva Thrasher-Rieu, no oppose. Motion carried.
