The June 7, 2023 Planning Commission meeting handled a guest request, project approvals, town updates, and ongoing items. A representative of Tip top Tots Early Leaming Center asked to open a childcare center in the old Tidewater building and requested flexibility on required square feet and lot area per child and noted a white picket fence for security; the commission voted to recommend that the Board of Appeals approve a special exception and allow that flexibility (no opposition). Town Manager updates reported SHA street improvements (crosswalk painting, two electronic speed signs on Main St., additional speed bumps including two on MD Ave and one on Steamboat, replacement of a temporary speed bump, and added stop signs), award of federal channel dredging engineering to Bayland Consultants and Designers (Hanover, MD) for $34,000, and that Breezeline and Comcast franchise agreements are still being revised with possible Comcast services by fall. Old business included ongoing discussions on Wheatland’s DRRA and public works agreement and Queenstown Corridor Management work in progress. In new business the commission approved property plans for William Strotman at 211 Melvin, discussed Rudy Milligan’s request to add a second floor to a garage and extend the back of a house (not in the critical area) with the homeowner to work with the Town Planner on setback compliance, accepted the minutes, and adjourned at 7:44 p.m.

Vice-Chairman Matt Reno called the meeting to order at 7 :02 prn GUESTS: lftadijiah Robain4 Tip top Tots Early Leaming Center - looking to open a childcare leaming center in the old Tidewater building, each child requires 35 sq ft of space; requires white picket fence for security.
